Reading Homework
Students are asked to complete 20 Minutes of homework each evening (Monday-Friday, or when you have time to make up during the weekend).
☺ 20 minutes of Reading when there is no Math homework
☺ There will also be an optional, monthly homework calendar sent home each month
When reading, please make sure to discuss the books with your child, before, during, and after reading, to help build comprehension and understanding of what they are reading. We definitely want and will help your child to learn to read the words, but it is just as important for them to understand what they are reading and make meaning of the words.
I have included the reading log we use just in case you need to print another copy at home as well as some resources below to help you with reading with your child. Happy reading!

Math Homework
Math homework will be sent occasionally the week after the lessons have been taught for practice and reinforcement. A big part of Math, especially in Kindergarten, is having students show their work as well as be able to discuss, or "Math Talk," about what they are doing and why. Please watch the video below of a typical Math lesson in Kindergarten to see how we build number concepts and "Math Talk" skills.
